Before I get started telling you what I think about Sex, Lies & Religion by Randy Elrod, you should know that I have known about this book since the idea was… well… conceived. While Randy wrote this book, he and I had several conversations about what he was writing and consequently, I got to read it as he was writing it.

So to see this book being birthed into existence has been nothing short of a great experience in learning for me and has kept my mind occupied through many, many miles of running.

Now onto the book…

Sex, Lies & Religion captured my attention from the very beginning. I have always felt as though there was a deeper meaning to sex, how it parallels our faith and what God intended for us in the bedroom as well as in a relationship with Him.

No matter what your belief system – Conservative, Liberal, Catholic, Protestant, Non-believer, Married, Divorced, or Single… we all have to define our beliefs on the subject of sex at some point in our lives.

There is no doubt Sex, Lies & Religion will challenge you and cause you to question what you believe about your views on sex and how it pertains to what the Bible says as opposed to what man has made us to believe.

I now know that whatever unanswered, confusing questions I had in the past, seem to make sense when I read this book. I’ve come to understand there is actually a more redeeming, holistic relationship between body and soul.

In the end, this book causes me to examine the level of intimacy and trust I have in my relationship with God and how redeeming and life-giving God’s love really is.
