Blogs By Moms and Why I Love Them

Let’s be honest. Moms rock. My mom rocks and I’m sure yours does too. Moms also have a HUGE presence in the Ole blog0sphere…more than I ever knew. When I went to Uganda, we had 5 moms on the trip, 4 of whom

have blogs. Now I know what you’re asking. What do they blog about? Well let me just tell you…they blog about everything to do with raising kids, being a wife and holding the family unit together. I would say that’s probably plenty to blog about. Just one of those subjects would give you a lifetime of writing!

When we went to Uganda, I found out very quickly the power of a mom and her blog. I have to say that not only am I impressed with any mom that has the time to read blogs or much less maintain a blog, but I love the way they communicate and help each other out. Seriously…think of all the great leaders in the world. They all had moms. I mean…somebody had to raise Jesus and all the rest of our historical leaders…yes…even the bad leaders had moms too, and no, Hitler wasn’t born with that mustache.

We went on a Safari while we were in Uganda and we saw a mother lion with her cubs trying to hunt downLionsugandasafari
the days meal. We watched her stalk an animal (which she didn’t catch) and all I could think of was a mom I know who refers to herself as a lioness when it comes to the protection and well being of her kids. I think that’s a great visual for me  when it comes to the protectiveness moms have for their kids and their family.

My friend Barry Dean wrote a song called Judge A Man and the line goes. You judge a man by the woman… I hear that song and just think YES! He sooo nailed it in that song.

So why do I love them? Because while we are out trying to solve the worlds problems and use our man cards, moms are doing the real work…raising us kids.

It brings me to this thought… Moms raise the world

Here are the 4 blogs of moms I read. Boo Mama, Rocks In My Dryer, Whittaker Woman, and Blissfully Krissy. The went on the Uganda trip and we all had a blast getting to know each other…just be prepared to laugh and cry.

Thanks, Spence…one of my favorite moments of the trip was when Shannon shared the magic of mama-blog staple Mr. Linky. And the guys took notes. LOVED THAT.
